Clothing Technology; Shaping The Society

Before CT 11 started we've all been wondering about the significance of our degree program. It is always a struggle to explain to people on how we can contribute to the society as a member of the academe. It's hard to justify something that you do not clearly understand.

I believe that after a few lessons that we've tackled from our CT 11 class we've finally understand the importance of our field of studies. That the course is important in shaping a society.
Clothing as a basic necessity gives impact to our daily activities. Psycho-social, political, sciences, and behavioralism also revolves in this field. It is something that affect each one of us in our daily life.

We as human being interacts with other people to survive. We also live in a group inside a established social norm from our own culture. We view ourselves based on our belief system and it shows on how we present our self that shows what it is. And the basic form of presenting ourselves is through clothing. we also use clothing to show what type of person we are. Like on how we dressl is it to impress or to conform? Thus, it only proves that clothing in general is vital to people for their personal growth. It is then vital to us as a clothing technology student to be very particular regarding this knowledge.

The latest trends that we also see on T.V, billboards, and magazines is part of the scope of our analyzation. Not just simple knowing the trends but also knowing from its root cause; it it because of the economic growth/deficit? Is it due to weather? Is it because of the latest technological advancement? and so on and so forth?

We then came across to a geralization that as a BS Clothing Technology student we holds a great responsibility. The responsibility on how we'll be able to make use of this knowledge for the betterment of the people and not just for our personal gains.
